Research topics

Evolution: Evolution contradicts the Bible, you can not believe in both. There is separation between Church and state, so evolution being taught in schools is wrong. Evolution is missing observation from the scientific method. No one observed evolution so therefore to believe in evolution you must have faith that it happened.
Abortion: Aborting a child is murder because that child is a life. If you say that it is your choice to not have the child then that's the same as a person pulling out a gun and saying its my choice to kill you. That child has a purpose in this world.
Affirmative action: Affirmative action is supposed to make sure that employers were not hiring people because of race, gender, disabilities, etc. When hiring someone, no matter their race, gender, etc, it should come down to qualifications. I am tired of hearing people complain because they cant get a job and say its cause of their race or gender. It took me months to get a job and I'm a clean cut white girl. It has nothing to do with race.
Racism: Everything comes down to racism. You can't say anything without offending someone anymore. You can't hide the fact of who you are race wise unless your Michael Jackson.

  1. Your first topic would be a very intense controversial subject but I do agree a bit with your view. As for me, I guess it is because I love science so evolution would be something I view in favor of but again, when you noted that we have "never seen" it happen then it faith that brings us to believe in it. Having faith would be religion which shouldn't be incorporated into schools. But the thing is, evolution does not only relate to the emergence of humans but how things have changed everyday to become what they are. Evolution is everywhere and you can see it, technology advancing, diseases becoming resistent, humans living longer, that is all evolution. So I guess my point is, if youre going to research about evolution, be specific because we have actually truly seen evolution happen everyday. :o)

Your other subjects are quite interesting, especially affirmative action, I remember seeing a "That's So Raven" episode that relates to that topic.

    I like the 1st and 3rd research topic. :)

  2. do a paper on how racism effects people and the general society as well, see if anything possitive has came out of it or if it is all negative? im sure due to racism some people have over came it and due to that became a stronger person.

  3. Your topics are quite common, especially evolution because I have that on my post! I like the third topic because your reasons are blunt and it's interesting.

  4. i see affirmative action as a bigger issue than it may seem.
so many times have i seen companies hiring either a staff of all girls, or a "good looking" staff... it is completely unfair to anyone who needs a steady income, and cuts out their options to get one.

  5. I think that affirmitive action would be a good topic because it something that we rarely think about, however, it is still very controversial. Your other topics are frequently in the news or brought up in school.

  6. Evolution: Is the theory true or is it false?

Abortion: Is it right or wrong to have an abortion?

Affirmative action: Why did you not get hired? Race or because you weren't qualified?

Racism: Do the police arrest someone because of their race or because they did something wrong?

  7. The affermitive action topic, in my train of though, is the one that really catch's my eye. It is very true and makes complete sense and can be strongly argued.

  8. Hi Sam,
I like the affirmative action topic because, like Tom says, we don't think about it enough. You could probably combine this with racism.

Your evolution ideas are definitely controversial! This would make for a good debate as well.
